My best mates baby and her cuddles.
My youngest and our lovely morning swimming.

This blog as it reminds me to stay positive and hopefully helps others or might do one day 🙂
This flat and it’s lovely view
My dog and his love for us all
My mate for working out the pilot light
The police officer whom was very sweet and helpful.
My counsellor for fitting me in at the weekend
Myself, for never giving up!

30 Day Challenge Summary Day 2

1. Listen to a new song every day

I struggled a little with this but am settling for Macklemore Irish Celebration, I like a lot of his stuff but somehow missed this one!

2. Text, write, message people you care about and tell them why they’re important to you.

I sent a pin interest picture to my best mates saying how amazing they were.

3. Do a brain training puzzle a day

Today has been a long day but I am going to do a sudoku puzzle before bed, I promise!

4. 30 Photo days of happiness.

I only took two pictures today but it’s of someone that makes me very happy! And the fact I had tricked her into eating a sour sweet made me even happier >:D

5. Write down something you love about your partner every day and give them the list after your month is up.

Still private but definitely done! I am thinking of ways I can present them all to him at the end of the 30 days instead of a plain old list.

6. Do Louise Hay affirmations every day for 30 days.

I am ashamed to say I haven’t done this once yet :O I keep meaning to but I need to find some quiet time to do it. I will have to run this a little over 30 days I think!

I can see some of these challenges getting quite difficult! Finding a new song that you like every day isn’t as easy as it sounds and also something nice to photograph can be hard too! I really did have a rough day and have been very distracted so looking forward to a better day tomorrow 🙂

Daily Summary

Today has been a long emotional day but I am determined to keep this a positive blog so no whinging in here!

Am I in good health today?

I have been fine all day 🙂

What did I eat today?

I had some toast in the morning, nothing for lunch as I was distracted and cooked a gorgeous Greek lamb Traybake from the bbc good food website, recipe can be found here.

What were the three most successful things I did today?

1. Set the wheels in motion for obtaining some important paperwork.

2. Took my youngest swimming, we had a great time!

3. Arranged after school club for my children.

What made me happy today?
Swimming with my youngest made me smile and playing guitar hero for the first time in ages. My best mate and her bonnie baby made me happy too.

What worried me the most today?

I worried about my children fitting in okay at school but they all had a good day.

What surprised me the most today?

My youngest and his swimming skills. I haven’t been swimming with him much at all due to normally having all four children but he is really confident in the water and manages quite well, made me happy to see that.

Set three small goals for tomorrow.

1. Make a list of things I need to buy for flat (still haven’t done this!)

2. Hit some targets at my work

3. Chase housing benefit.

Daily Gratitudes

I really do think this is a lovely way to end the day. Recap and be thankful for the things that made you smile. It wasn’t until I had the breakdown that I realised how much we take things that make us smile for granted. Doing gratitudes each day reminds you that you have a lot more than you think.

Today I have been grateful for:

1. Having such a positive day
2. Spending some quality time with my youngest and watching him play with our dog.
3. My fiancé for helping me work out what to do with kid issues and being there to support me.
4. For my daughters and for getting the truth.
5. For those that have taken the time to view this blog and sent me messages.
6. For the £1 win on a scratch card!
7. For my best mate and her stories each day.

30 Day Challenge Summary

1. Listen to a new song every day

I actually changed this challenge  to not just listening to a new song, but finding a new song I really like each day and adding it on itunes or spotify. I had great fun looking through various songs and eventually settled on Tracey Chapman, New Beginning. Not only did I enjoy the tune, I thought the lyrics were quite appropriate!

2. Text, write, message people you care about and tell them why they’re important to you.

I sent a little picture to a couple of my friends, telling them how amazing they are. I highly recommend this challenge, not only does it make the recipient feel good, its a great feeling to put a smile on the face of someone you care about.

3. Do a brain training puzzle a day

I bought a Sudoku book from the newsagent and completed the first ‘mild’ puzzle. Hopefully by the end of the thirty days I will be doing the ‘extremely hard, you will never complete me’ ones! I also remembered I have More Brain Training on the nintendo ds, which I may incorporate into this challenge. Will be interesting to see my progress over 30 days as I have never managed to keep it up more than a day or two.

4. 30 Photo days of happiness.

I took a lovely walk with the kids and our dog and many pictures were taken. Its hard to pick just one of them for today but this is it:

My boys and I

My Boys and I

5. Write down something you love about your partner every day and give them the list after your month is up.

As much as I’d like to, because I think he is wonderful, I think this one is better kept private!

6. Do Louise Hay affirmations every day for 30 days.

Now this is an app on my phone, you can download it here. Its free to download but each affirmation costs about £2.00 to purchase. There is one free which I am going to do for 30 days, called Loving Yourself. I havent actually done it yet, but planning on doing it in bed just before going to sleep.

All in all, a pretty successful start to my 30 day challenges! I am actually excited as at the end, I will be able to make a playlist of my 30 new songs and a photobook of my 30 days of happiness. What lovely keepsakes!

Daily Summary

Felt like a very productive morning, but a rather lazy afternoon today! I started work on my 30 day challenges and for the most, had my best day yet since the breakdown.

Am I in good health today?

Felt pretty much 100% today. The odd headache twinge but I can be bad for not drinking enough water.

What did I eat today?

I had sugar puffs for breakfast, mostly because I was out of anything else! Lunch was cheese on toast and crisps. Dinner I made chicken and broccoli pastabake from the bbc good food website, pictured below! I also made a banoffee pie, again from the bbc good food website.

ImageWhat were the three most successful things I did today?

1. I completed my daily challenges!

2. Upgraded a minecraft server

3. Enrolled my youngest into school

What made me happy today?

Lots of things really. Getting the flat into a tidy state, catching up on the washing, searching for new music. Playing with my youngest outside in the grass, taking the dog for a walk. Texts from my fiance and his support.

What worried me the most today?

I am trying not to let myself worry too much about anything. Worry doesnt change anything and keeps you feeling down. But if I had to pick something, it would probably be some family troubles that I have been adjusting too.

What surprised me the most today?

The fact that my second daughter had told a lie about her sister which meant her poor sister had had to apologize to kids and their parents! I was really shocked and apologies and long talks about lies were had.

Set three small goals for tomorrow.

1. make a list of things I need to buy for the kids and flat (I didnt complete this!)

2. phone the hospital regarding an appointment for my eldest daughter

3. take my youngest son swimming!

30 Day Challenge List April 23rd – May 23rd

I was working full time until January this year. I am back to weekend part time hours and only have my youngest at home now. I’d really like to spend the free time I have at the moment achieving some small goals. And how nice it will be to look back on. I have been searching the web and below are the challenges I have decided to start from tomorrow.

1. listen to a new song every day

I am terrible for listening to the same stuff over and over. So I am going to make an effort to listen to one new song every day.

2. Text, write, message people you care about and tell them why they’re important to you.

I can get so caught up in life as a mum of four and sometimes forget to let those I love know how much I think of them. I like the thought of this challenge.

3. Do a brain training puzzle a day

I don’t spend as much time as I should exercising my brain. I used to love doing puzzles, so looking forward to this.

4. 30 Photo days of happiness.

I love taking Instagram photos. I will aim to take a photo of something that makes me happy every day for 30 days. Then have them printed off in a little photo book.

5. Write down something you love about your partner every day and give them the list after your month is up.

I love this. My fiancé means the world to me and this should be pretty easy.

6. Do Louise Hay affirmations every day for 30 days.

I have an app on my phone by Louise Hay you can find it here.  I loved her book, how you can heal your life, and really want to put some affirmations in place. The app makes this quite easy I just need to make time for it.

That will do for the next 30 days, after that I will pick new challenges. I am very much looking forward to getting started!
